Orion is currently recruiting for an outstanding career opportunity in Medical Device Sales, as a Sales Development Program Representative with Medtronic. Medtronic Spine and Biologics has created a development program to train and educate future sales professionals. The objective of the program is to take talented professionals with minimal to no sales experience, and through an intensive immersion program, prepare them to become successful Spine Sales Representatives. This is a premiere position in Medical Device Sales, with unlimited earning potential following your training program.

Program Overview

The program is 18 months in duration. In the first 4-6 months of the program, you will learn the foundational concepts of Spine and Biologics Sales, gain exposure to business functions, assist with sales and surgeon training labs, and provide other sales support.

In Phase 2, approximately 12-14 months, you will spend time in the field with a mentor/trainer, interact with customers, and learning, observing and performing the day-to-day activities of a Commissioned Spine Representative. At the end of the program you will be eligible for opportunities as a Commissioned Spine Representative.

The program begins in mid-July 2013 in Memphis, TN.

Salary and Benefits

  • The base salary of a Sales Education Representative is $70,000, plus between $5,000 – $20,000 in bonuses.
  • Once you become a Spine Representative, you can expect a salary of approximately $150K in your first year, with rapid growth. It is not uncommon to make $300K+ in your 2nd year as a Spine Representative.
  • You will receive a comprehensive benefit plan including medical, dental, vision and life insurance; pension plan and 401(k); short term disability; discounted stock purchase plan; tuition reimbursement, and more.

  • Top transitioning or recently transitioned Junior Military Officer
  • Bachelors degree in technical, science, or engineering field

  • Technical aptitude is important because you will be learning very complex procedures and pieces of equipment
  • Top notch communication skills and be able to communicate and instruct effectively
  • Strong work ethic and organization and prioritization skills
  • Willingness to travel. In Phase I of the training program you will travel 50%, and in Phase II you will travel 90%. You will not be required to relocate throughout the training program, but will likely need to relocate when you get your first territory after completing the program.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance policy.
  • Must be able to begin training in mid-July in Memphis, TN.

We are seeking Communications Technicians, including Field Wiremen; Satellite, Wideband and Telemetry Systems Technicians; Radio Communications Technicians; Electronics Technicians; and Fire Controlmen for these positions. Industrial Engineer

Shift Maintenance Technician Careers

Orion has partnered with a leading manufacturer of steel products nationwide seeking Shift Maintenance Technicians in Jewett, TX. As the Shift Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining all equipment on the plant floor. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Working with a team to ensure that all preventative and corrective maintenance is performed in a timely manner
  • Repairing a wide variety of equipment in the plant, using extensive electrical, electronics, and mechanical aptitude and knowledge
  • Working with engineers and other employees to develop new processes to make the facility more efficient

Position Location: Jewett, TX; two hours from Houston, Dallas, and Austin.

Shift and Work Schedule: You will initially begin training on an 8 day on/8 day off schedule for up to three months. You will then work on either the Roll Mill Department schedule or the Melt Shop Department schedule. The Roll Mill Department schedule is four 12-hour days on, then four 12-hour nights on, with weekends off for both shifts. The Melt Shop Department schedule is 12-hour days with a 28 day rotation. The first cycle is four days on, two days off. The second cycle is three nights on, two days off. The third cycle is three days on, two days off. The fourth cycle is four nights on. In the Melt Shop Department, you will get one week off (7 days) after every fifth week.

Work Environment: You will be working in a steel plant environment, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Salary: Total 1st year compensation should be around $65k to $70K+. Incentive-based pay: Weekly pay is based on an hourly salary, plus weekly bonus, that averages 80 to 150% of your base weekly pay. Pay after two years of employment, and qualifying through testing up a couple of levels, can get you promoted into the $100k range.
